9 Mar 1842 Trial at Staffordshire Assizes
Name: Edward Rathbone
Age: 25
Estimated birth year: abt 1817
Date of Trial: 9 Mar 1842
Trial Year: 1842
Location of Trial: Staffordshire, England
Sentence: Acquittal

Edward was charged with 'robbery in company with others'. He was found 'not guilty'.

Here is the entry of the trial in the official ledger.

30 March 1851 Census

Edward Rathbone age 35 - coal miner, Rebecca Rathbone age 32 - his wife and

Jane Ann Rathbone age 9 - his daughter, are living at 24, Wolverhampton Street, Bilston

7 April 1861 Census Edward Rathbone is 47 and living alone in Flecknoe, Warwickshire. He is listed as an agricultural labourer. This Edward Rathbone appears to be a mis-match as he matches with anothe Edward.
2 April 1871 Census Edward Rathbone age 55 is now in Leamington. He is a lodger at the house of sisters Hellen Warden age 31 and Carloine Warden age 29. They are painters and he is listed as a cabinet maker, No mention of his true birth place - the census records his birthplace as Warwick, so this might also be a mismatch.
